Description
NAC (N-Acetyl-l-Cysteine) is a derivative of the dietary amino acid l-cysteine. NAC supports tissue levels of glutathione, a key component of the antioxidant defense system, and is a powerful free radical scavenger. It also has been shown to have the ability to help chelate heavy metals. Current research also suggests that oral NAC may prevent acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and decrease associated morbidity.
